My research extended the concept of the water footprint to energy. It aims to give insight into this relationship and to raise awareness. At present, starting in September 2016, I work at IVEM, where I continue my research into energy and water relationships, coordinate a master course (Sustainable Use of Ecosystems), chair the committee of education, act as a tutor for students, supervise master thesis students, PhD candidates and students doing an internship. Next to that, I represent IVEM at the environmental research school SENSE and I am an advisory board member of Milieucentraal, an advisory organisation in the Netherlands on environmental issues.
