Water Footprint Network files for bankruptcy

It is with great regret that I must inform you that the Water Footprint Network Foundation has filed for bankruptcy on 18th August and expects to go into receivership in early September when its affairs will be settled by the Court. This unfortunate state of affairs is a result of overwhelming financial problems. We are very grateful for all the help, support and interest you have shown us with your collaboration over the last nine years. If you have any questions, please write to Dr. Christopher Briggs, Executive Director, at: info@waterfootprint.org.

While the Water Footprint Network Foundation will no longer exist as a legal entity, its mission – to promote the transition towards sustainable, fair and efficient use of freshwater resources worldwide – remains as important and relevant as ever. In light of those shared ambitions, collaboration between our partners in the spirit of Water Footprint Network’s mission will continue. Our partners are seeking and finding ways to keep the work going. If you have questions on future collaboration between partners on water footprint assessment, please write to Dr. Arjen Hoekstra, professor at the University of Twente, the Netherlands, at: a.y.hoekstra@utwente.nl.
